how long was your baby in nb clothing?

About 3-4 weeks. Then he was too big to comfortably fit in them (I didn't wait for the snaps to start coming apart, since that stretches the clothes out for the next baby… and I had plenty of 0-3 ready to transfer to.)

My daughter was much smaller, but again she only was in them maybe a month if that. After 8lbs, they're typically too long for the onesies to fit comfortably. 8-11lbs or so are the 0-3, and I got a lot more of those than the newborns since they stay in those a bit longer.

Suggestion:

Not at all. He came home in 0-3 months. He was 7lbs 8oz and 22 in long
